Intellectual Disabilities

What is the Intellectual Disabilities system?

In Blair County, Intellectual Disabilities services are provided, as funding and eligibility permit, to those people who need assistance in learning, maintaining, or improving skills related to living and working in the community. These services may be provided by a qualified provider of ID services or can be self-directed using a fiscal management service.  A Support Coordination Organization (SCO) would assist with the development of an Individual Supports Plan (ISP) that identifies needs and offers choice in service providers.

Some of the supports and services offered in Blair County include:

  • Adult Day Services
  • Pre-vocational training
  • Licensed and Unlicensed Residential Support
  • Family Living
  • Employment
  • Respite
  • Therapies
  • Supporting Daily Living
